Relentless Stabbing Ache in Hip

Shawn Brown - 700 Club Producer

Anne Marie Melnyk loves the Philadelphia Eagles.

“All I need is a little bit of Eagles football and a whole lot of Jesus," said Anne Marie.

She especially loves going to the games. But in recent years, the pain in her right hip made it hard to enjoy the experience.

“It’s a long day. A lot of walking. A lot of standing, which was tough. The hip the way it was standing for too long or sitting for too long really caused a lot of pain," said Anne Marie.

She says the pain started 20 years ago. Getting in and out of bed or her car was a task. She couldn’t even enjoy hiking, one of her favorite activities.

“Going from a sitting position to a standing position, that caused pain. Hiking on an uneven terrain was out because I just didn’t have the flexibility to do anything," said Anne Marie.

Anne Marie went to see a chiropractor hoping to find relief.

“Many years ago, I had a slight scoliosis and that could have been from the misalignment of the hip. And so, I just continued to go to the chiropractors and do the stretches and just do the best I can to try to keep myself moving so that I didn’t get more stiff. The chiropractic helped tremendously but it was just temporary," said Anne Marie.

She also went to some medical specialists, but they couldn’t find anything. She decided it just came with getting older.

“I didn’t go to the Lord for this. Silly. But I just thought it was one of those things as we get older. There’s aches and pains and you just do what you can do and deal with it the best you can deal with it. And that’s what I did. I just kept going," said Anne Marie.

In addition to football, Anne Marie, a CBN partner, also loves watching The 700 Club. One day, Pat and Wendy were praying.

Pat said, “You have a hip, or the hip isn’t sitting quite the way it’s supposed to be and right now your leg is growing, you’ll almost feel a crushing in your bones as that thing straightens out. But from this moment on you're healed.” I just felt the presence of the Lord. I was just like 'Claim it, this is for you!' So, I put my hand on my hip and I raised my hand, and I just started crying uncontrollably, but it was joy. It was absolute joy. And, I had my arms up and I was praising the Lord and I took my shoes off and I walked all around the upstairs barefoot. I went downstairs barefoot. It was unbelievable. It was just unbelievable, there’s no doubt in my mind that the hand of God touched me that day," said Anne Marie.

Now totally healed, Anne Marie is thrilled to be back hiking and can’t wait to get back to the stadium to see her favorite team in action.

“I could stand longer. I could sit longer. I could get out of a seated position. I can come home after a nice long walk and I’m not in pain. The Lord loves us. And He wants good things for His children. Trust the Lord. He will take care of you. Offer your prayers to Him and just let the Lord love on you," said Anne Marie.
